Quartz glass has excellent electrical performance. At room temperature, its resistance is equivalent to 10 times that of ordinary glass. Precautions for use of quartz glass:
1. Quartz glass products must be carefully cleaned with deionized water or wiped with alcohol after use. Direct contact with hands is strictly prohibited after cleaning to prevent dust, otherwise the glass will lose its high purity and directly affect its service life.
2. Although the rapid heat resistance of quartz glass is very good, when used with other substances, the expansion coefficient of other substances must be considered, otherwise it will be damaged.
The linear expansion coefficient of quartz glass is very small, which is 1 / 10 ~ 1 / 20 of that of ordinary glass. It has good thermal shock resistance. Its heat resistance is very high. Its regular use temperature is 1100 ℃ ~ 1200 ℃, and its short-term use temperature can reach 1400 ℃.
Quartz glass has excellent optical properties, not only the visible light transmittance is particularly good, but also the ultraviolet and infrared rays. Because of its special physical and chemical properties such as temperature resistance, acid resistance (except hydrofluoric acid and hot phosphoric acid), low expansion and excellent spectral transmittance, it has become an important material in modern science and technology and is widely used in high-tech fields such as semiconductor industry, optical communication, electric light source and so on.
